Choose a direct Dailymotion or dai.ly video link
Open the individual Dailymotion video and copy its share link. Supported dailymotion.com and dai.ly video addresses can identify the content, while a search page, channel, or collection address may not identify a single downloadable clip. Paste the video’s own URL rather than copying an embedded player’s temporary media address.
Review the returned title and thumbnail to make sure the right upload was found. A short check is useful when a video has been shared across several pages or when similar titles appear in a collection.
Compare available quality and file size
HD and SD keep things simple. Turn on Highest quality for more detail. Every available audio and image stays within reach. Available qualities depend on the source. Exact resolutions are shown with each file.
An HD preference does not upscale a lower-resolution upload. The original source remains the limit, and there is no benefit in expecting missing image detail to reappear through conversion. If the largest file is inconvenient, try another returned quality.
Read the download option before saving
A result may offer different media types or file variants. Choose the video tab for the clip itself and check any available audio options separately. Read the format, quality, and file-size information where supplied. Different videos can produce different lists, so there is no fixed set of formats that applies to every Dailymotion URL.
Some versions need preparation before the final link is available. Leave the page open and follow the progress indicator. Once preparation completes, use that item’s final download link instead of starting another identical job.
Use the same downloader on desktop and mobile
The browser workflow works without a dedicated application. On a computer, check your browser’s download panel and chosen destination folder. On Android, open the browser’s downloads list or file manager. On iPhone and iPad, check the browser’s download indicator and the Files app before looking in the photo library.
A file opening in a player does not always mean the download failed. Use the available save action in your browser when appropriate. Ensure the device has room for the file and avoid closing the browser while it is still preparing the download.
Check availability before retrying a failed link
Confirm that the original video is still publicly accessible. A removed upload, private content, regional restriction, or temporary source change can prevent the service from finding a file. Copy a fresh direct link if the original was truncated or came from an unrelated page, and follow any rate-limit message instead of submitting many requests at once.
A successfully resolved link is saved to local history so you can find it again without relying on an old temporary file URL. History stays in this browser and can be deleted. Saving a public video does not grant redistribution rights; keep only material you are authorized to download.
