Public availability is different from visibility in your account

Being able to watch something while logged into Facebook does not necessarily make it publicly accessible. Friends-only videos, private groups, removed posts, and restricted content may not resolve through a public downloader. SnappyDL does not request your Facebook password or use your account to bypass those limits.

If a link fails, open it outside the original app and check whether the content is still available. A newly copied public link is a better starting point than a temporary playback address or an old download result.

Facebook HD video and smaller alternatives

HD and SD keep things simple. Turn on Highest quality for more detail. Every available audio and image stays within reach. Available qualities depend on the source. Exact resolutions are shown with each file.

HD is not a promise that every video will be high resolution. A clip originally uploaded at a smaller size cannot gain missing detail through downloading. If the largest option is slow to prepare, a smaller available version may be more convenient for your connection and storage.

Understand the file before pressing download

Use the media tabs to distinguish video, audio, and any other returned files. A video option is the natural choice for watching the clip offline. A separate audio option is useful when one is actually available. Read the file label and size rather than assuming every post offers identical formats.

Some downloads require preparation. Let the progress indicator finish and keep the page open until the final link is ready. Repeated clicks can make it harder to tell which job has completed; use the visible status for the selected item.

Save the file, then manage it where you normally do

On Windows or Mac, your browser’s downloads list shows the completed file and usually lets you open its folder. On a phone, check the download indicator and your Files or file-manager app. The browser controls the destination; SnappyDL does not need to manage your device’s folders.

Successfully resolved links can be revisited through local history on the homepage or downloader page. That history is specific to this browser and can be searched or cleared. Keep creator rights in mind when saving or sharing a copy: a public post is not automatically permission to redistribute it.
